Error: (9999,17x) when installing a Norton product

Use the Norton Removal Tool to remove a failed installation or a damaged Norton product.

 

Warning Warning The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2009/2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

 

            
  Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Download the Norton Removal Tool for your version of Windows.
 
 Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.

Follow the on-screen instructions.
 Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
