Client options are unavailable when making configuration changes at the client level in Symantec System Center

Question/Issue:
You right-click a client in Symantec System Center. The menu options are unavailable, and you cannot set options on the client.

Solution:
In Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 and later, you can change a setting in Symantec System Center to allow the configuration of individual clients.

To allow direct configuration of individual clients

  1. Start Symantec System Center.
  2. On the Tools menu, click SSC Console Options.
  3. On the Client Display or Client Filter tab, check Allow direct configuration of individual clients.
  4. Click OK.

Note: Changes that you make at the individual client level can be overwritten by any changes that you make at the parent server, client group, or server group level. If you plan to regularly make changes to a specific client, Symantec recommends that you place that client into a client group and then make changes at the client group level.
