Release notes for Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5 for Domino

Question/Issue:
This document contains the release notes for Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5 for Domino in-line releases.


Solution:
Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.8.38 for Domino

Symptom: Symantec Mail Security for Domino (SMSDOM) stops responding when latest definition updates from LiveUpdate are loaded. This happens when Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition (SAVCE) and SMSDOM are installed on the same computer.
Solution: Fixed. For more details about this issue, refer to http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-gate.nsf/docid/2009082815410454.

Symptom: Email messages containing attachment of certain format, when scanned with CF rule, fall into infinite scanning loop.
Solution: Fixed.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.7.36 for Domino

Symptom:
Several important defects were fixed in the KeyView Filter component used by the attachment content filter module.
Solution:
KeyView Filter component is upgraded to latest available version.

Symptom:
Crash occurs when scheduled scan and Domino compaction are run simultaneously on the same database.
Solution:
This crash was due to an error returned by Notes API inside VSP. Changing the way the error returned by Notes API is handled in our code solved the issue.

Symptom:
Several important defects were fixed in the component used by Symantec Mail Security for Domino.
Solution:
Component has been upgraded to the latest available version.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.6.35 for Domino

This release of Symantec Mail Security for Domino has been certified on the English version of Lotus Domino version 8.5.

Symptom:
SMSDOM database templates unnecessarily appear in all template lists.
Solution:
SMSDOM templates have been converted from Standard to Advanced format so as to stop them from appearing unnecessarily during routine domino administrative tasks.

Symptom:
Several defects were fixed in the KeyView filter component used by the attachment content filter module.
Solution:
Upgraded KeyView filter to the latest available version.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.5.32 for Domino

Caution:

Customers using Premium Anti-Spam on Japanese operating system are recommended not to upgrade to this Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.5 for Domino release.

Symptom:
Sample file from customer causes a decomposer crash.
Solution:
Upgraded the decomposer to its latest version.

Symptom:
Duplicate messages occur when a content filtering rule is applied.
Solution:
Resolved by using a different Lotus API.
User Interface:
User will no longer see two messages with the same document ID.

Symptom:
Mails queue up in the server mailbox as NNTask crashes silently while creating alerts when Domino is still running.
Solution:
Fixed.

Symptom:
Graphical Reports page do not work. Status of Notes 8.0.1 shows “no response” in Task Manager.
Solution:
This was a localization issue and has been resolved.

Symptom:
Certain .pdf files cause NNTask to crash Domino.
Solution:
Upgraded the decomposer to its latest version.

Symptom:
When a regular expression is used in a “match list” in content filtering rule, period (.) matches with newline character.
Solution:
As a workaround, try the following regular expressions to resolve the problem.


Symptom:
A zip file containing .xls files is found to be unscannable by Symantec Mail Security for Domino.
Solution:
Upgraded the decomposer to its latest version.

BEIK Component Upgrade
BEIK component, used by Symantec Mail Security for Domino, was upgraded to latest available version. Several important defects were fixed in the latest available version of BEIK component.

ECOM Component Upgrade
ECOM component, used by Symantec Mail Security for Domino, was upgraded to latest available version. Several important defects were fixed in the latest available version of ECOM component.

Definitions Upgrade
AntiVirus and Standard AntiSpam definitions that are shipped with the product have been upgraded to their latest available versions.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.4.29 for Domino

Symptom:
Several defects were fixed in the KeyView filter component used by the attachment content filter module.
Solution:
Upgraded KeyView filter to the latest available version.

Symptom:
When Symantec Mail Security for Domino is running with Premium AntiSpam enabled, a recipient address in the format “<user@domain.com” makes SMSDOM crash.
Solution:
Fixed by updating Brightmail BEIK component.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.3.25 for Domino

Symptom:
Several important defects were fixed in the KeyView filter component used by the attachment content filter module.
Solution:
The KeyView filter used by the attachment content filter module was upgraded to latest available version.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.2.24 for Domino

Symptom:
Several defects were fixed in the KeyView Filter component of the attachment content scanning module.
Solution:
Upgraded the KeyView Filter component to the latest available version.


Symantec Mail Security 2007 7.5.1.23 for Domino

Symptom:
Multiple defects were fixed in the KeyView Filter component.
Solution:
KeyView Filter component, which is used by attachment content filter module, has been upgraded to the latest available version.

Symptom:
Enterprise Vault tag values, as set by Symantec Mail Security 7.5 for Domino, are not searchable by using Enterprise Vault custom filter functionality.
Solution:
Removed hyphens/underscores from default Enterprise Vault tag names.
User Interface:
The new default Enterprise Vault tag names are KVSCategoryPolicies, KVSExcludePolicies, KVSPolicyAction, KVSIncludePolicies, KVSRetention, KVSIndex1, KVSIndex2, and KVSIndex3.
