The primary responsibilities of this position will be to structure, negotiate and draft agreements covering a wide range of technical support services business partnerships and end user deals. This new hire will assist with the development and validation of business models for those direct and indirect customers. This new hire will focus on closing security product technical support deals with end users, resellers, outsource service providers, managed service providers, support partners, platform OEMs, and other business partners. The new hire will work with Product groups to negotiate and structure strategic inbound/outbound deals for the Americas. Such relationships are intended to help facilitate and drive licensing agreements with strategic hardware and/or software companies. As noted elsewhere, this new hire will act as back up for security product related support issues for Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Japan.
A key part of the role will be to understand the capabilities and processes of the Symantec support organization with respect to security products developed in-house, as well as those added to our product lines via acquisition integration. The new hire will be required to develop strategy for business opportunities that involve technical services for security products, and to align those opportunities to the support organization's capabilities. The new hire may be asked to collaborate with other team members with overseas regional responsibilities to assist with those regional responsibilities regarding support issues for security products or other issues. The new hire will also assist in conducting due diligence for mergers, acquisitions and their related integration, as well as divestments that affect Technical Support, Training and Consulting.
This new hire will work closely with Corporate and regional Legal staff, Revenue Accounting and Sales to develop template agreements, policies and procedures and otherwise to ensure compliance with internal corporate policies, as well as to support and enhance the contracting process regarding security software and other products from a technical support standpoint. |

Job Requirements, Experience/Skills:
B.A. or B.S. from an accredited college (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science) is required.
10 or more years of experience in corporate business, preferably within a large hardware or software company is required.
Must be able to demonstrate excellent business judgment.
Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to influence others in a group as well as conduct negotiations in a professional manner.
Must be able to adapt and react promptly and effectively to change.
Must have team orientation and be client-service focused.

Desired Experience includes:
Law degree from an accredited law school (Doctor of Jurisprudence or Bachelor of Law). is preferred.
10 or more years of experience in the corporate/transactional department of a corporate legal or contracts negotiation department in a large hardware or software company is desired.
2+ years of experience as an Associate in a well-recognized law firm is desired.
M.B.A. in Business Accounting or Finance is desired.
International business transactions experience is desired.
Experience in closing deals covering support services, technology licensing or data security products such as anti virus, anti spam, intrusion detection and the like is desired.
Business partner alliances experience is desired.
Excellent oral and written communication skills is desired.
Desire candidate who demonstrates and uses strategic thinking, and is goal-directed.
Supervisory or managerial experience is desired.
Ability to drive consensus and decision-making is desired.
