Norton products and 2007 Daylight Saving Time changes | ||||

In 2007, the U.S. will change the way Daylight Saving Time will be handled. The Energy Policy Act of 2005 extended Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. beginning in 2007. Daylight Saving Time will change and start the second Sunday of March and end on the first Sunday of November. Many regions of Canada and Mexico have and are expected to follow suit as well. Daylight Saving Time changes does not affect the functionality of your Norton products. Since Norton products picks the time from Windows, changes in Day Light Savings will not impact your Norton products, as long as Windows handles this change. Due to these changes, your system clock may not change on the correct date and any scheduled tasks could be affected. Microsoft has created a patch for the versions of Windows that are affected and still supported. Windows Vista does not require any patching.
To obtain the patch from Microsoft, run Windows Update and download all critical patches. If you wish to manually install the patch, read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, 2007 time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems. Windows Mobile customers are affected as well, but a patch is not available at the time this article was published.
