Automatic LiveUpdate does not update virus definitions, but manual LiveUpdate does

This solution requires that you use Internet Explorer. If this page is open in any other Web browser, open it in Internet Explorer.

 

            
  Download and run Intelligent Updater
I use Windows Vista
1
Go to the updates page for new virus definitions. DOWNLOAD DEFINITIONS

Click the first file in the list under Filename.
 The file name starts with the year and has the following format:
 20070131-021-i32.exe

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the desktop, double-click the file that you saved.

Click Run.

In the User Account Control window, click Continue.

Click Yes.

Click OK.

In the Program Compatibility Assistant window, click This program installed correctly.
I use Windows XP/2000/Me/98
1
Go to the updates page for new virus definitions. DOWNLOAD DEFINITIONS

Click the first file in the list under Filename.
 The file name starts with year and has the following format: 20070226-036-i32.exe.

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the desktop, double-click the file that you saved.

Click Run.

Click Yes.

Click OK.
