Save your Norton Ghost or Norton Save & Restore Product Key, then download and run the Norton Removal Tool

STEP 1
  Before you begin
  • We suggest that you print this page before you start. PRINT

  • This document is for Ghost and Save & Restore products. If you have a different product, please go to our main document and choose the product that you have. Then follow the steps in that document.

  • If you have more than one Norton product, be sure to get the product key, CD or installation file for each product that you want to reinstall before running the Norton Removal Tool.

STEP 2
  Save your Product Key

NOTE Note If the product is currently not installed on your computer, check the Product Key at the back of the CD sleeve, or in the confirmation email that you received from Symantec for your download purchase. Once you write down the Product Key, go to STEP 3.

Your product may have a product key. If your product does have a product key, make sure you have it now. If your product came on a CD, your product key is on the back of your CD envelope. If you downloaded your product, then your product key is in your confirmation email.

Be sure that you have your product CD or installation file, then go to STEP 3 below.

If you do not have your product CD or installation file, and you have Windows XP, then we suggest that you upgrade to the latest version of your product. UPGRADE

STEP 3
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Warning Warning The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

1
Download the Norton Removal Tool for your version of Windows.

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

2
On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
3
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
