Back to previous solution

STEP 1
  Before you begin
  • We suggest that you print this page before you start. PRINT

  • This document is for Norton 360. If you have a different product, please go to our main document and choose the product that you have. Then follow the steps in that document.

  • If you have more than one Norton product, be sure to get the product key, CD or installation file for each product that you want to reinstall before running the Norton Removal Tool.

  • If you have installed Norton Add-on Pack, run the Add-on Pack migration tool to backup your Norton AntiSpam and Parental Controls settings. Read, Exporting your Norton Add-on Pack settings while upgrading to Norton Add-on Pack 2.1.

STEP 2
  Save your Product Key

NOTE Note If the product is currently not installed on your computer, check the Product Key at the back of the CD sleeve, or in the confirmation email that you received from Symantec for your download purchase. Once you write down the Product Key, go to STEP 3.

1
Open Norton 360.
2
Click My Account.
3
Click Access Norton Account.
4
If you have the option, type in your Email Address and Password for your Norton Account, then click Sign In. Then skip to line 8 below.
If you do not have the option to sign in to your Norton Account, click Next to register Norton 360.
5
Click Create a Norton Account, then complete the form.
6
Click Next, then click Next again to continue to your Norton Account.
7
Type in your email address and password that you used to create your Norton Account, then click Sign In.
8
Click Norton 360.
9
Write down your Product Key, you will need this later.
10
Click Sign Out.
If you are using the online backup feature in Norton 360, continue with STEP 3 below.
If you are not using online backup, then skip to STEP 4 below.

STEP 3
  Download and run BUdump.exe
NOTE Note Budump.exe backs up your Norton 360 Secure Online Storage backup settings, and restores it when you reinstall Norton 360. Budump.exe runs quickly and silently. If you do not back up your files to Secure Online Storage, then skip to Step 4.
1
Click the button to download BUdump.exe. DOWNLOAD
2
Click Save.

Save the file onto your Windows desktop.
3
On the desktop, double-click the BUdump.exe file.
4
Click Run.

STEP 4
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool

Warning Warning The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.

1
Download the Norton Removal Tool. DOWNLOAD
Save the file to the Windows desktop.
2
On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.
