Reinstalling the Windows Script files

If the Windows Script files are damaged or missing, some programs may not work correctly. Microsoft no longer provides the Windows Script files download for Windows 98/Me. However you can re-register the jscript.dll file in Windows 98/Me to fix the problem with the Windows Script files.

            
  Choose your operating system
I have Windows XP/2000

You need to reinstall Microsoft Windows Script. Click the link for installing Microsoft Windows Script 5.7 for your version of Windows:

In the Validation Required section, click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.

I have Windows 98/ME

Click Start > Run.

In the Run dialog box, type the following text:
 
regsvr32 C:\windows\system\jscript.dll

Click OK.
 A message indicated whether the command succeeded or failed.
 If the command failed, verify that you typed the command correctly.

Click OK.
