Configuring Windows Me to clean boot

Because you must return to this page after you restart the computer, add this page to Favorites.

STEP 2
Clean boot Windows Me with a Selective Startup

Click Start > Run.

In the Run dialog box, type the following text:

msconfig

Click OK.

On the General tab, Click Selective Startup.
Uncheck all the process options below Selective Startup.

Click the Startup tab, and then check *StateMgr.

Click OK.

When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

Note When you have completed your troubleshooting, follow steps 3 to configure Windows to perform a Normal startup.

STEP 3
Configure Windows Me to perform a Normal startup

Click Start > Run.

In the Run dialog box, type the following text:

msconfig

Click OK.

On the General tab, click Normal Startup.

Click OK.

Click Yes, when you are prompted to restart the computer.
