Error: "Ghost Error Application error 437..." when restoring an image or running the Integrity Check
Situation:
You see the error message "Ghost Error Application error 437 cannot read from file" in one of the following situations:
- When you run the Ghost Integrity check on an image file that is or was on a CD-ROM.
- When you restore an image from an image file that is or was on a CD-ROM.
Solution:
This problem appears to be due to starting the computer incorrectly when using Ghost with GoBack on the computer. For instructions on using Ghost with GoBack, see the document Ghost compatibility with GoBack.
Alternate causes and solutions
- This problem can also happen when you use a brand or type of CD that does not work well with your CD-R or CD-RW device. In this situation, Windows or DOS might be able to read information on the CD that other applications cannot. - This problem can also happen when you use Ghost compression. To solve the problem, use a different compression rate or no compression.
