How to use LiveUpdate with America Online

These instructions are for Windows XP. If you use a different operating system the steps may differ slightly. 

            
   Make sure that Windows settings are correct

Click Start > Control Panel.

Double-click Symantec LiveUpdate.
If you do not see the Symantec LiveUpdate icon, in the left pane, click Switch to Classic View.

On the ISP tab, look for the "Do not manage my Dial-up Networking Connections" option.

Do one of the following:
 
  • If you do see the "Do not manage my Dial-up Networking Connections" option, click it and then click OK.
    This completes the procedure for you.
  • If you do not see the "Do not manage my Dial-up Networking Connections" option, click Internet Options in the Control Panel.
    Continue on to line 5.

Click Configure.

Click Never dial a connection.

Click OK.
