What is Norton Save & Restore?

Norton Save & Restore uses Norton Ghost's disk imaging technology to create an exact image of your hard drive without exiting Windows. Norton Save & Restore provides advanced features to do the following:

Norton Save & Restore supports the following versions of Windows:

 

NOTE Note For support on Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4, you need to use Norton Ghost 10.0.

  • File and folder backup lets you choose specific files and folders to save, rather than an entire drive.
  • Norton Save & Restore protects all files of a certain type, such as photos or documents, by searching the hard drive and by backing up only those files.
  • Norton Protection Center console integration allows you to manage your Norton security applications from a single easy-to-use interface.
  • The Outbreak Alert trigger automatically starts a backup when Norton Internet Security 2006 or later is notified about a virus or worm outbreak. (Norton Internet Security 2006 is sold separately.)

  • Includes a one-step setup wizard, which automatically creates an initial backup schedule that is based on the computer's storage devices and system settings
  • Automatically monitors and optimizes backup disk space
  • Triggers a backup on key events, such as new program installations or user logons
  • Encrypts a backup to help keep it secure
