Troubleshooting CD/DVD problems

STEP 1
  Download and install the driver for GEAR software

Download the GEAR driver.   DOWNLOAD NOW 

Save the file onto the Windows desktop.

On your Windows desktop, double-click the Driver_Installer_x86_x64.exe file.

When the Open File - Security Warning appears, click Run.
If the User Account Control alert appears, click Allow.

In the GEAR driver installer window, click Next.

Read the License Agreement, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.

Enter the User Name and Organization, and then click Next.

Click Install.

When you see the message "The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed GEAR driver...", click Finish.

Restart the computer.

STEP 2
  Download and run the CD/DVD drive fix tool

Download the FIXCD file. DOWNLOAD NOW

Save the file onto the Windows Desktop.

On the Windows desktop, double-click the fixcd.reg.

Click Yes.

Click OK.
5
Exit all programs and restart the computer.
