How to uninstall pcAnywhere from Windows NT/2000/XP

NOTE Note Before removing pcAnywhere, you may want to save the current connections items, callers, or settings. You can restore these after you reinstall pcAnywhere. Where these files are located depends on which version of pcAnywhere you have installed. See the document How to keep existing pcAnywhere configurations when re-installing or upgrading before continuing.

 

 

STEP 1
  Print this page

Because you must return to this page after you restart the computer, add this page to Favorites.

STEP 2
  Uninstall from Add/Remove Programs

Exit all open applications and stop the pcAnywhere host service.

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

Select pcAnywhere.

Click the Add/Remove.
STEP 3
  Run Remove.exe utility

Click Start > Search > For files or folders. The Find dialog box appears.

From the Look In drop-down list, select the drive onto which you installed pcAnywhere.

Check Include subfolders (if not already checked).

In the Named field, type the following text and click Find Now.
remove.exe

Double-click the found file.

Follow the Uninstall Wizard through uninstalling pcAnywhere.

Restart the computer once the uninstall is complete.
