Error: "STOP Error in ntoskrnl.exe or Win32k.sys" when launching pcAnywhere 11.0

Situation:
After installing pcAnywhere 11.0, you launch the pcAnywhere Manager and see the error message, "STOP Error in ntoskrnl.exe or Win32k.sys."

Solution:
This problem has been resolved in pcAnywhere 11.0.1. To obtain the latest version of pcAnywhere, run LiveUpdate.

If, after updating pcAnywhere to version 11.0.1, the error persists, try the following workaround.

Workaround
To lower the hardware acceleration in the display properties

  1. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Settings tab.
  4. Click Advanced.
  5. Click the Troubleshooting tab.
  6. Change "Hardware acceleration" to "None."
  7. Click OK.
