You can force the Antivirus Subscription Expired window to appear by manually downloading and installing the current virus definitions.

 

		Download and install virus definitions manually
		1 Go to the Symantec Security Response - Intelligent Updater Notification Page. 2 Click Download Virus Definitions (Intelligent Updater Only). 3 Click Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh, and then click Download Updates. 4 Click the updater file that is listed under "NAV 9.0 for Mac OS X Updates" or "NAV 8.0 for Mac OS X Updates," depending on which version you have. 5 Double-click the virus-definition updater file that you downloaded in line 4.  Run the updater even if you have already updated to these definitions by using LiveUpdate. 6 Type your Mac OS X user name and password to authenticate, then click OK.  If you have Norton AntiVirus 9.0.x or Norton Internet Security 3.0.x, the Subscription Expired windows appears without typing a user name and password. Also, in Norton AntiVirus 9.0.x and Norton Internet Security, the windows differ slightly from the ones pictured here, but the steps are the same. 7 Click I have a subscription key, and then click Next.  You see the Antivirus subscription key window. The Antivirus subscription key window or NIS subscription key window may be in the upper-right corner of your screen.  8 Type your subscription key, and then click Finish Subscription.  After your subscription is complete, you see the following message: 9 Click Install to continue the update of your Symantec product.

 

Tips for entering your subscription number

• If you received your subscription key in a confirmation email message, subscription keys for several programs are included. Be sure to use the key for your product and version.
• Subscription keys begin with the letters ND.
• Be sure to type your subscription key exactly as it appears.
