How to create a bootable CD for a Symantec Macintosh product in Mac OS X

This document provides steps on how to create a bootable Mac OS 9 CD in Mac OS X. At present, there is no Apple-supported method for creating a Mac OS X bootable CD. If you have a new 12" or 17" G4 PowerBook, these models cannot boot from Mac OS 9. Please read Apple no longer supports booting from Mac OS 9 on computers released after December 2002.

NOTE Note

Symantec provides this information to you as a service and does not directly support the creation of a bootable CD to work with your computer. If you have questions or problems when you create a bootable CD, please refer to the provider of the CD mastering software that you use.
