Error: "There are pieces missing from LiveUpdate. Try reinstalling LiveUpdate." after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.3.9

Because you must return to this page after you restart the computer, add this page to Favorites. 

STEP 2
  Run Software Update and reinstall your Symantec product

Om the Apple menu, click Software Update.

Make sure that Java Update for Mac OS X v10.3.9 is checked, and then click Install.

After the update has finished, click Quit.

Download and run the Symantec Uninstaller. RUN IT NOW
 Restart the computer when you are asked to do so.

Reinstall your Symantec product.
 Restart the computer when you are asked to do so.

Start LiveUpdate.

Click Customize this Update Session.

In the list of available updates, uncheck everything except LiveUpdate.

Click Update.

In the Summary window, quit LiveUpdate.
 The old version of LiveUpdate remains in memory until you quit the program.

Start LiveUpdate.

Click Update Everything Now.
 When you see the Summary window, your virus definitions are up to date.
