- On the download page, look for the table in the section for your version of Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh.
- For example, if you use Norton AntiVirus 9.0 for Macintosh, find the section that looks similar to this illustration:

- To start the download, click the file name or the small download icon to the right of the file name.
- (In the previous example, the file name is NavM9_Installer_20071023_US.zip.) The file is downloaded and saved to your default download location.

- Go to your default download location and expand the zip file.

- Double-click the installer file SymantecAVDefs_ppc.pkg.
- The appropriate files will be installed on your computer.

- Type your password if you are asked to provide it.

- After the virus definitions are updated, click Quit at the next prompt.

- After the virus definitions are updated, you can delete the file that you downloaded.
