Situation:
This document describes what is new or changed in Norton Utilities for Macintosh 8.0.x after running LiveUpdate.

Solution:
This information is also in the Norton Utilities Read Me document located in the Read Me Files folder after updating Norton Utilities.

For information about updates to LiveUpdate 3.0.x, which is included with Norton Utilities 8.0.x, read the document What's new in LiveUpdate 3.0.x after running LiveUpdate.

• When you update to the latest version, it includes all the previous updates.
• You may need to run LiveUpdate more than once to obtain all the available updates.
• For more information on how to update your Symantec software, please see the document How to use LiveUpdate in Symantec Macintosh products.

• A new 8.0.2 CD was released to boot newer model Macintosh computers. For more information, read the document Cannot boot from a 2003-2004 Symantec Macintosh product CD on a new Macintosh.
• Fixed a problem where Norton Disk Doctor found an "Unexpected End of File" error on a G5. For more information, read the document Error: "Unexpected End of File" when examining hard disk on G5 model Macintosh.
• Improves Volume Recover's ability to Rebuild Directories. For more information, read the document Volume Recover Rebuild Disk option does not rebuild directories when booted from the Norton Utilities 8.0.1 CD with 128 to 256 MB of RAM installed.

• Added support for Mac OS X 10.3. For more information, read the document Symantec 2003-2004 product compatibility with Mac OS X 10.3 (code named Panther)
• Updated for compatibility with very large Catalog Tree Structures. For more information, read the document Error: "The directory structures on disk <Macintosh HD> are too large for the current version of Norton Utilities."
• Updated for an error with incorrect clump size in files. For more information, read the document Error: Incorrect clump size found repeatedly by Norton Utilities 8.0 on Mac OS X 10.3.x hard disk.
• Updated for an error with incorrect data logical length found on drives with Mac OS X 10.2.x. For more information, read the document Error: "<File name> has an incorrect data logical length" or similar error found repeatedly on Mac OS X 10.2 volume.
