Situation:
You renewed your subscription service for Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 8.0.x and received a subscription key. You need to know how to enter your subscription key.

Solution:
Once you receive your subscription key, follow the steps below. If you have not yet received a subscription key, read the document Information about Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh and Norton Internet Security subscriptions.

To enter your subscription key for Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 8.0.x

• If you ran LiveUpdate this month and do not want to wait until next month to enter your subscription key: Follow the steps in the document Cannot enter subscription key for Norton AntiVirus or Norton Internet Security after updating virus definitions or Web Blocking updates.
• If you have not run LiveUpdate yet this month: Follow the steps in the next section.

1. Open LiveUpdate.
2. Click Update Everything Now.
3. Enter your user name and password to authenticate, then click OK.
4. What you do next depends upon the window that you see:
   • If you see a window that says there are no LiveUpdates and you want to enter your subscription key right away: Follow the steps in the document Cannot enter subscription key for Norton AntiVirus 8.0x after updating virus definitions or Web Blocking updates.
   • If you see a window that says Antivirus Subscription Expired (this is pictured below): Select I have a subscription key. Click Next.
     
     
     
   • If you see a window that says NIS Subscription Warning: (This means that your subscription has not yet expired. This window will look like the "Expired" window, except that the title is different. See the picture below of part of the "Warning" window.) Select I have a subscription key. Click Next.
     
     
     
     
     
5. In the Antivirus subscription key window, enter your subscription key. (The subscription key window may be in the upper-right corner of your screen.) Click Finish Subscription.
   
   
   
   
   
6. In the Subscription Complete window, click Install to continue installing the latest virus definitions for Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 8.0.x.
   
   
   

• If you received your subscription key in a confirmation email, subscription keys for several programs are included. Be sure to use the key for Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 8.0.x.
• Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 8.0.x subscription keys begin with the letters ND.
• Be careful to type your subscription key exactly as it appears.
