How to uninstall or remove Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh
Situation:
This document provides instructions on how to uninstall Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh.
Solution:
To uninstall Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh
- Insert the Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh CD into the CD-ROM drive.
- Double-click the Norton AntiVirus Installer application.
- In the dialog box that appears, click Continue. A ReadMe dialog box appears.
- Click Continue again. This will bring up a license dialog box.
- Click Agree. Continue with steps 1-3 for your version of Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh.
Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 5.0
To uninstall Norton AntiVirus
- Click Custom.
- Hold down the Option key.
The Install button will change to Uninstall, and the text in the window will change to explain the process.
- Click Uninstall.
Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 6.0
To uninstall Norton AntiVirus
- Select Uninstall from the pop-up list in the upper-left corner of the installer window.
- Verify that you have selected the correct volume to uninstall from.
- Click Uninstall.
Norton AntiVirus for Macintosh 7.0
To uninstall Norton AntiVirus
- Select Uninstall from the pop-up list in the upper-left corner of the installer window.
- Verify that you have selected the correct volume to uninstall from.
- Click Uninstall.
