Error: " . . . Cannot access necessary file, msvcr80.dll..." when running One Button Checkup or WinDoctor

   Before you begin

This problem has been fixed in the latest 2008 product update. If you have Norton System Works 2006 or 2007 and you have a valid subscription, then you are eligible for the 2008 product update. Click the download button depending on your Norton SystemWorks edition:
 

If you have Norton SystemWorks 2005 or earlier version, go to Step 3.
STEP 3
   Fix the errors
To prevent these messages from appearing, tell One Button Checkup or WinDoctor to ignore the errors. If you tell One Button Checkup or WinDoctor to fix the errors, the messages will reappear the next time that you scan the computer.
I use One Button Checkup

In the One Button Checkup window, to the right of Program Integrity Scan, click view details.

Click Missing Program Files (n problems), where n is the number of problems that One Button Checkup found.

For each message that says ". . . cannot access a necessary file, 'msvcr80.dll,'" right-click the message, and then click Ignore Selected Problem.

After all of the msvcr80.dll problems have been ignored, click OK.

 I use WinDoctor

In the Norton WinDoctor window, on the right side, click Details.

In the list that is under the Details bar, click the first message that says ". . . cannot access a necessary file, 'msvcr80.dll.'"

Click Problem.

Click Ignore Selected Problem.

Repeat lines 3 and 4 until all of the following problems are ignored:
 
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\AppLaunch.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_state.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\aspnet_wp.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\csc.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\cvtres.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ilasm.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\mscorsvw.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\ngen.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
  • "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\vbc.exe" cannot access a necessary file, "msvcr80.dll"
