What is product activation? |
|
|
Product activation protects you from pirated and counterfeit software. It limits the use of Norton programs to those who bought them legitimately. When you install your Norton 2008 product, you must use a unique product key to activate it. You can activate your Norton 2008 product during the installation, or after you install it. If you activate it after you install it, you must do so within a limited time, or your Norton 2008 product will not work.

- Make sure that your computer is connected to Internet.

- Start your Norton 2008 product.
|

- In the Help & Support window, click Activation.
|
- 5
- Type the 25-character product key.

Notes |
- The product key can be found on a yellow sticker on the back of the CD envelope or in the confirmation email of your download purchase.
- If your product came with your computer you may not have to enter the product key. You can skip this step.

- Follow the prompts to create a Norton Account and register your Norton 2008 product.

- Click Finish.
