I cannot send or receive email using Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora or a similar program when using Norton Internet Security 2006

  Download and Install the latest version of Norton Internet Security
Many problems have been fixed in the latest Norton product update. If you have Norton Internet Security 2006 on Windows XP with a valid subscription, then you are eligible for the latest product update. Click the button to update your Norton program.

   Change firewall rules for your email program

Start Norton Internet Security.

Double-click Personal Firewall.

On the Program Control tab, click Program Scan.

Select the drives to scan, and then click Next.
 In most cases, you need to select all of the listed drives.

After the Program Scan completes, examine the list of internet-enabled programs and verify that all of the  entries of your email program are checked.

Click Finish to add the selected programs to the Program Control list.

Click OK to close the Personal Firewall configuration window.
 I downloaded the product from my Internet Service Provider (ISP)
