Adding client computers to the Trusted Zone in Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall

STEP 2
Determine the IP address of each client computer

Click Start > Run.

In the Run dialog box, type the following text:

cmd

At the command prompt, type the following commands (press Enter after each command):

cd\
ipconfig

The IP configuration information is displayed in the DOS box.

Write down the IP address information for STEP 3.

Repeat lines 1–3 on each client computer.

STEP 3
Add addresses to the Trusted Zone

Start Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall on the gateway computer.

Follow the instructions for your version of Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall:

I have the 2005 version Click Personal Firewall, click Configure, and then click the Networking tab.

I have the 2004 version Double-click Personal Firewall, and then click the Networking tab.

I have the 2003 version Double-click Personal Firewall, and then click the Home Networking tab.

On the Trusted tab, click Add.

In the 2004 version of Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, the Networking dialog box appears.
In the 2003 version of Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, the Specify Computers dialog box appears.

In the Networking dialog box or Specify Computers dialog box, ensure that Individually is checked.

Type the network addresses, with a space between each address.

Click OK.
