Situation:
Both pcAnywhere and a Symantec desktop security or firewall product, such as Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall, are installed on your computer. When your desktop security or firewall product is enabled, you cannot connect to make any TCP/IP connections with pcAnywhere.
Solution:
Normally, your Symantec desktop security or firewall product automatically creates rules for pcAnywhere the first time it detects pcAnywhere running. If it does not, then rules need to be created manually for the pcAnywhere Host and Remote features. A tool called Program Scan can be used to scan your hard drives for all Internet-enabled applications and create rules for them. Follow the instructions in this document to create the pcAnywhere Host and Remote rules on your computer.
