How to update virus definition files using the Intelligent Updater: Manual Steps

 

            
   Manually update the virus definitions using the Intelligent Updater

Go to the updates page for new virus definitions. DOWNLOAD DEFINITIONS

Do one of the following depending on the version of your Norton product: 
 
  •  For Norton 2008 products: Click the first file in the list under Filename. The file name starts with the year and ends with v5i32.exe. e.g. 20070828-017-v5i32.exe
  •  For other Norton products: Click the second file in the list under Filename. The file name starts with the year and ends with i32.exe. e.g. 20070828-017-i32.exe

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the desktop, double-click the file that you saved.
