Nothing happens when you click Scan Now to run a virus scan with Norton AntiVirus 2005 on Windows 98/Me/2000

Because you must return to this page after you restart the computer, add this page to Favorites.

STEP 2
  Uninstall and reinstall your Norton product

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

In the Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

In the list of currently installed programs, click the Norton program that you want to uninstall, and then click Change or Remove.

Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.

If you have files in Norton Quarantine and Restore, do one of the following:
  •  Click Yes to delete the quarantined files from your computer.
  •  Click No to leave the quarantined files on your computer, but make them inaccessible.

Click Next to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.

Click Restart Now.
 Your Norton program is not fully uninstalled until you restart your computer.

Click Finish.

After the computer restarts, reinstall your Norton program.
