How to configure MSN Messenger to use Norton AntiVirus to scan downloaded files

Select your Norton AntiVirus product version

I have Norton AntiVirus 2003/2004/2005

Run LiveUpdate

Run a tool to start LiveUpdate. RUN IT NOW

I have Norton AntiVirus 2006

Configure MSN Messenger to scan downloaded files using Norton AntiVirus

Select the way in which Norton AntiVirus was installed.

I installed Norton AntiVirus as a stand-alone product or as a part
of Norton Internet Security

Start MSN Messenger.

Click Tools > Options.

In the left pane, click File Transfer.

In the right pane, check the box Scan for viruses using.

Click Browse and navigate to ccIMScn.exe.
The file is located at:
C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton AntiVirus

Once you have selected the file, click Open, and the file path and name appear.

Click OK.

I installed Norton AntiVirus as a part of Norton SystemWorks

Start MSN Messenger.

Click Tools > Options.
