		Select your Norton product
		I am using Norton AntiVirus 2004 STEP 1   Unregister the Navshext.dll file (for Windows 2000/XP only) 1 On the Windows desktop, click Start > Run. 2 Type or copy and paste the text that applies to your version of Norton AntiVirus:    If Norton AntiVirus is installed as a stand-alone product: regsvr32 -u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\navshext.dll" If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton SystemWorks: regsvr32 -u "c:\program files\norton systemworks\norton antivirus\navshext.dll" If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton Internet Security: regsvr32 -u "c:\program files\norton internet security\norton antivirus\navshext.dll" 3 Click OK at the next prompt. STEP 2   Rename Norton AntiVirus folder, restart the computer and delete the renamed Norton AntiVirus folder 1 Open Windows Explorer. 2 Navigate to the following folder:  C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus 3 Right-click the Norton AntiVirus folder, and then click Rename. 4 Rename the folder to Nortonold, and then click outside of the name box. 5 Click Yes at the next prompt. 6 Close Windows Explorer and any other open applications, and then restart the computer. 7 After restarting, open Windows Explorer. 8 Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Nortonold 9 Right-click Nortonold, and then click Delete. 10 Click Yes at the next prompt. I am using Norton AntiVirus 2003 STEP 1   Save your Product Key The Norton 2003 products do not have a product key. Be sure that you have your product CD or installation file, then go to STEP 2 below. If you do not have your product CD or installation file, and you have Windows XP, then we suggest that you upgrade to the latest version of your product. UPGRADE STEP 2   Download and run the Norton Removal Tool Warning The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed. 1 Download the Norton Removal Tool for your version of Windows.   I use Windows Vista/XP/2000. DOWNLOAD   I use Windows Me/98. DOWNLOAD  Save the file to the Windows desktop. 2 On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon. 3 Follow the on-screen instructions.  Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
