STEP 1		Print this page
		We suggest that you print this page before you start. PRINT Because you must return to this page after you restart the computer, add this page to Favorites.

STEP 2		Run LiveUpdate
		Run a tool to download the latest program updates. RUN IT NOW

STEP 3		Configure manual virus scans for maximum protection
		1 Start Norton AntiVirus.  If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton Internet Security or Norton SystemWorks, then start that program. 2 Click Options.  If a submenu appears, then click Norton AntiVirus. 3 Click Manual Scan. 4 In Which file types to scan for viruses, click Comprehensive file scanning (recommended). 5 Check Scan within compressed files.  For Norton AntiVirus 2005, also check Scan active programs and start-up files. 6 Click OK.

STEP 4		Scan your computer for infections
		1 In the left pane of the Norton AntiVirus display window, click Scan for Viruses. 2 In the right pane, double-click Scan my computer.

STEP 5		Deal with a risk that is found
		Find the document for your version of Norton AntiVirus in the following list, and follow the instructions:  What to do when Norton AntiVirus 2006 detects a threat or security risk What to do when Norton AntiVirus 2005 detects a threat or security risk What to do when Norton AntiVirus 2004 detects a threat or security risk What to do when Norton AntiVirus 2003 detects a virus, worm, or Trojan
