Error: "Unable to initialize virus scanning engine . . ." after running Windows System Restore or installing Norton AntiVirus 2003/2004/2005

           
  Verify that the system date is correct

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.

Double-click the Date/Time icon.

Select the appropriate year, month, and day.

Click Apply.

Click OK.

Restart the computer.
