Situation:
Norton AntiVirus detected a threat in a compressed file. The file could not be repaired, so you chose to quarantine the file. Now you want to submit it to Symantec Security Response, but when you try to do so, you see a message that the file is compressed and cannot be submitted in that format.
Solution:
Files submitted to Symantec Security Response from Norton AntiVirus Quarantine must be submitted in uncompressed format. However, to uncompress the file, it must first be restored to your hard drive. This could cause the computer to be infected. Because of this, it is important to know whether you need the infected, compressed file or not. Do the following, depending on whether the file is needed:
