Error: "Error creating quarantine object - corrupted definitions . . . " (3026,150)

Situation:
You installed Norton AntiVirus. You started the program, clicked Reports, and clicked View Quarantine and Restore items on System Status. You see the error message: "Error creating quarantine object - corrupted definitions. Please follow the link below for directions." In the lower-left corner of the error display alert, you see the numbers 3026,150.

Solution:
This problem can happen if the virus definitions have been damaged.

To fix the problem, run LiveUpdate and download the latest virus definitions. For details on how to run LiveUpdate, see the document How to run LiveUpdate.

If running LiveUpdate does not fix the problem, then manually download the virus definitions from the Symantec Web site. To do so, read the document How to update virus definition files using the Intelligent Updater to . The manual process overwrites the existing virus definitions with all new files.
