Norton AntiVirus indicates out-of-date definitions, but LiveUpdate indicates that no update is necessary

This solution requires that you use Internet Explorer. If this page is open in any other Web browser, open it in Internet Explorer.

STEP 1
Make sure that the computer's date is correct
1
On the Windows taskbar, right-click the clock, and then click Adjust Date/Time.
2
Select the correct month, year, and day.
Be sure to check the year. An incorrect setting for the year is the most frequent cause of this problem.
3
Click Apply, and then click OK.
STEP 2
Download and run the PIUpdate tool

1
Download the PIUpdate tool. DOWNLOAD

Save the file on to your desktop.
2
On your Windows desktop, double-click piupdate.exe.
3
When the Open File - Security Warning appears, click Run.

If the User Account Control alert appears, click Allow.
4
Click Setup.
5
When you see the message "Successfully completed update of Product Inventory..." click OK.

STEP 3
  Run LiveUpdate
Run a tool to start LiveUpdate. RUN IT NOW

What if this didn't work?
