Error: "Norton AntiVirus 2005 uninstallation has failed..." when uninstalling using Windows Add/Remove Programs

This solution requires that you use Internet Explorer. If this page is open in any other Web browser, open it in Internet Explorer. 

             
  Uninstall your Norton products

Warning Warning The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products from your computer. Before you continue, make sure that you have the installation CDs or downloaded installation files and the product keys for any Norton products that you want to reinstall. Also, if you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases and uninstall those products.

Download the Norton Removal Tool. DOWNLOAD 

Save the file to the Windows desktop.

On the Windows desktop, double-click the Norton Removal Tool icon.

Follow the on-screen instructions.

Your computer may be restarted more than once, and you may be asked to repeat some steps after the computer restarts.
