Cannot access or log on to secure Web sites after installing Norton AntiVirus

Update your Norton product |
|
|
Many problems have been fixed in the latest Norton product update. If you have Norton AntiVirus 2006 installed in Windows XP with a valid subscription, then you are eligible for the latest product update. Click the button to update your Norton program. UPDATE NOW
If you purchased your product through your internet service provider (ISP), please be sure that you have the latest version available from your ISP. Run LiveUpdate to download and install the most recent updates.
If you do not want to update your Norton product, go to the next step. |

Turn on Symantec startup files that have been turned off |

Run a tool to turn on critical Symantec startup files. RUN IT NOW |

Turn off Internet Worm Protection |

- Start Norton AntiVirus.
- If Norton AntiVirus is installed as part of Norton SystemWorks, then start that program.

- If you see a menu, click Norton AntiVirus.

- In the left pane, click Internet Worm Protection.
|

- In the right pane, depending on your program version, uncheck Enable Internet Worm Protection or Turn Internet Worm Protection on.

- Close Norton AntiVirus.
