How to extract the Gb_prog.exe file from the Norton SystemWorks 2002 CD


NOTE Note

If you do not have a Norton SystemWorks 2002 CD, then do not follow the instructions in this document. Instead, please read "How to remove changes that GoBack makes to the boot sector and partition tables of a computer".

STEP 2
  Extract Gb_prog.exe

Insert the Norton SystemWorks 2002 CD. If the installation dialog appears, click Exit.

Open the zip utility.

On the File menu, click Open.

Change the Files of Type to All Files, and set the Look In dialog to indicate your CD-ROM drive.

Double-click the GoBack folder, and then double-click Setup.exe.
A folder listing of all the files available in Setup.exe appears.

Right-click the Gb_prog.exe file, and then click Extract.

Insert a bootable floppy disk, such as a Windows startup disk, in the floppy disk drive.

In the Extract dialog box, select the A drive, and then click Extract.
The zip utility will extract the Gb_prog.exe file to the floppy disk.

NOTE Note

The Gb_prog.exe file is used to remove GoBack from the MBR of a computer when the GoBack program has not been fully installed. The Gb_prog.exe file is part of the GoBack Setup.exe file and can be extracted with a zip utility, such as WinZip or WinRAR. If you do not have a zip utility, or if you are not sure how to use a zip utility, then you may download the GB_Prog.exe file.
