GoBack compatibility with Windows System Restore

GoBack is completely compatible with the Windows System Restore program. However, it is not necessary to run System Restore if you are using GoBack.

GoBack protects not only the system files, it also has the added protection of user data files, which System Restore does not.

Because both these programs will take up space on your hard drive as well as use system resources, you may want to disable System Restore (Windows XP) or leave it disabled (Windows Me).

  Windows XP System Restore

When you install GoBack on Windows XP, it does not disable Windows System Restore. For instructions on how to disable System Restore, read your Windows documentation, or the document How to disable or enable Windows XP System Restore.

  Windows Me System Restore
When you install GoBack on Windows Me, you are notified that GoBack will disable Windows System Restore and become the default system recovery program. You can, however, re-enable System Restore if you prefer.
For instructions on how to do this, read your Windows documentation, or the document How to disable or enable Windows Me System Restore.
