Situation:
You installed Microsoft Windows NT Service Pack 4, Windows 2000 Service Pack 2, or Windows XP Service Pack 1. When you start Ghost, you see the message "NTFS Error: NTFS Logfile has not been flushed (f1 = 0). Restart NT then try again." When you restart the computer and start Ghost again, you see the same message.
Solution:
This problem has several causes. In most cases, you can fix the problem by running Ghost with the -NTIL command-line switch. This switch tells Ghost to ignore the NTFS log file. Use the -NTIL switch when you create an image and when you restore the image. Images that are created and restored with the use of this switch restore correctly.
Ghost displays this message when the computer has an NTFS partition and Windows NT Service Pack 4 is installed. Service Pack 4 changed the NTFS driver to provide compatibility with the Windows 2000 file system.
If the problem happens on one computer but not on others, use a disk utility to check the hard drive for errors before you run Ghost.
Using older Ghost versions
If the problem continues and you are using an older version of Ghost, you may need to upgrade to the most current version. The consumer version, Norton Ghost, is available at the Symantec Store or your local software retail outlets. To obtain the latest Symantec Ghost (corporate) version, see the document Where to obtain current version of Symantec Ghost.
