Suggestions and hints
You can change these settings in WinFax PRO Program Setup under Modems and Communications Devices or Receive options.
- Most modems work best when set up in Winfax as a Class 1 hardware flow control device. This can be done in Modems and Communications Devices in Program Setup.
- Slow down transmit rate; try a max transmit rate of 9600. This can be done in Modems and Communications Devices in Program Setup.
- Change the S7= value in the initialization string line 1 to S7=90. This can be done in Modems and Communications Devices in Program Setup.
- If the modem is a USR chipset, then try adding ATS36=0 to initialization String Line 2. If that does not work, try replacing 0 with 6 or 8. This can be done in Modems and Communications Devices in Program Setup.
- Set automatic receive on a standalone machine to 3 rings. This can be done in Receive in Program Setup.
