How to create a letterhead attachment
Situation:
You want to have a letterhead included on sent faxes.
Solution:
A letterhead attachment can be added to the top of any page being faxed from another application. For example, each page of your fax can be sent with a personal or corporate letterhead. You can specify one letterhead attachment for the first page of your fax and another for subsequent pages.
Instructions for creating letterhead attachments can also be found on page 4-16 of the WinFax PRO User's Guide under Managing Attachments. Instructions for including a letterhead with faxes can also be found in On-line Help in WinFax PRO or TalkWorks PRO.
- Start the Windows program, and open or create the document you want to use as a letterhead.
- Click File, and click Print. The Print dialog box appears.
- Select the WinFax printer from the Printer drop-down list.
- Click OK. The Send dialog box appears.
- Click File, and click Save as Attachment. The Save as Attachment dialog appears.
- Check Use As Letterhead.
- In the Description drop-down list, select either Paper1 or Paper2. This allows you to create and use two letterheads.
- In the Keywords field, type some text to help you identify this attachment in the future.
The letterhead is stored in a folder called Letterhead.
Adding letterhead attachments to faxed documents
- Open or create the document to be faxed in a Windows application.
- Click File, and click Print. The Print dialog box appears.
- Select the WinFax printer from the Printer drop-down list.
- Click Properties. The WinFax printer properties dialog box appears.
- Select one of the following from the Source drop-down list:
- Paper1 - To include the letterhead attachment with description Paper 1.
- Paper2 - To include the letterhead attachment with description Paper 2.
NOTE: To include the Paper 1 letterhead attachment on the first page and Paper 2 letterhead attachment on all subsequent pages, Select Paper1 first, then Paper2.

- Configure any other options in the Print dialog box and click OK. The Send dialog box appears.
NOTES:
- Use the Preview/Annotate option in WinFax to verify that the letterhead is properly placed before sending the fax.
- If the text is overlapped, the margins or spacing in the Windows application need to be modified to accommodate the letterhead. Perform a Print Preview from the application using the WinFax PRO printer driver to confirm the formatting.
- The letterhead will only be added to pages printed from other applications. WinFax Cover Pages and previously created attachments will not be affected.
