How to integrate Microsoft Exchange/Outlook 97, 98, or 2000 contacts into WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO
Situation:
You want to use your Outlook contacts in WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO, or view your message stores (or logs) in Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.
Solution:
NOTES:
- You cannot use an Outlook contact list that is shared across a network.
- Microsoft Outlook Express integration is only supported with TalkWorks PRO 3.0x and WinFax PRO 10.
- WinFax PRO 10 does not support Outlook 97 integration.
- To check the version of Outlook, click Help, and click About Microsoft Outlook.
- If WinFax PRO does not appear in the Add Services dialog box, you must reinstall WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO. Make sure that Exchange/Outlook is closed prior to reinstalling WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO.
- You must have the Corporate or Workgroup version of Outlook to integrate the WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO logs into Outlook.
- Outlook 2000 is only supported with WinFax PRO 9.03/TalkWorks PRO 2.03.
You must already have updated to release WinFax PRO 9.03 or TalkWorks PRO 2.03 to integrate with Outlook 2000. Previous versions of WinFax or TalkWorks only support Outlook 97/98. You can download and install the WinFax PRO 9.03 or TalkWorks PRO 2.03 update by running LiveUpdate from the Help menu in Message Manager. You can also find this update in the Symantec File Downloads area for WinFax PRO 9.0 or TalkWorks PRO 2.0.
- You may require the Microsoft Office CD to install the Corporate or Workgroup version of Outlook.
If Services is not displayed in the Tools menu for Outlook, switch to Corporate Workgroup mode as follows:
Outlook 97/98
- Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel. The Control Panel window appears.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs. The Add/Remove Programs Properties window appears.
- Highlight Outlook, then click Add/Remove.
- Click Add New Components.
- Click Install from CD or Install from Web depending on how Outlook was originally installed.
- Click Yes to allow Active Setup to detect installed components.
- Check Corporate or Workgroup Email Service from the Mail Components section.
- Complete the installation then reboot the system.
Outlook 2000
- In Outlook, choose Tools, then click Options
- Select the Mail Delivery tab, then click Reconfigure Mail Support.
- On the E-mail Service Options page, select the mail support option you want. then click Next.
- Read the warning message and then click Yes. Outlook will close.
- Restart Outlook. The Windows Installer will start and install the required files.
View WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO message stores (or logs) in Outlook
- Start Exchange/Outlook.
- Choose Services from the Tools menu. The Services dialog box appears.
- Click Add.
- Highlight WinFax PRO and click OK.
- Close and restart Microsoft Exchange/Outlook.

View Exchange/Outlook information in WinFax PRO/TalkWorks PRO
- Start Message Manager.
- Click Tools, point to Setup, and choose Program Setup. The Program Setup dialog box appears.
- Double-click Microsoft Exchange/Outlook. The Microsoft Exchange/Outlook Properties dialog box appears.
- Check Use Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Outlook in WinFax, and click OK.
- Click Close.
- Close and restart the Controller.
NOTE: If you are prompted to select a profile, click OK or choose the Exchange/Outlook profile you regularly use and click OK.
