Troubleshooting steps for WinFax PRO 10.x

Situation:
This document provides steps for several troubleshooting procedures. Use this document when you have been referred to it by a Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document.

Solution:
Perform only the procedures that were recommended to you by the Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document. Do the procedures in the order that they were referred to you.

Click the icon that is on the left of each section to either expand ( ) or collapse ( ) the section. If you cannot expand a section, then read the document Cannot expand sections in a Symantec Knowledge Base document.

Installing WinFax PRO 10.x from the hard disk
Installing WinFax PRO from the hard disk avoids problems that might exist between your CD drive and other devices or programs on the computer.

To install WinFax PRO
  1. Start Windows Explorer.
  2. Create a new folder named WinFaxInstall.
  3. While pressing the Shift key, insert the WinFax CD into the CD-ROM drive. Pressing the shift key ensures that the WinFax installation does not start at this time.
  4. In Windows Explorer, go to the CD-ROM drive and right-click the WinFax folder.
  5. Click Copy.
  6. Right-click the WinFaxInstall folder.
  7. Click Paste.
  8. In the WinFaxInstall folder, and double-click the Setup.exe file. This step starts the installation.
  9. Follow the prompts.
