Troubleshooting steps for WinFax PRO 10.x
Situation:
This document provides steps for several troubleshooting procedures. Use this document when you have been referred to it by a Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document.
Solution:
Perform only the procedures that were recommended to you by the Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document. Do the procedures in the order that they were referred to you.
Click the icon that is on the left of each section to either expand (
) or collapse (
) the section. If you cannot expand a section, then read the document Cannot expand sections in a Symantec Knowledge Base document.

Reimporting the cover page
Reimporting a cover page resets the WinFax link to that cover page. If the cover page that you want to reimport is the default cover page, change the default to different cover page before reimporting. After the problem is fixed, reset the default to the cover page that you want as the default.
To change the default cover page
- Close the WinFax Message Manager and WinFax Controller.
- If you are running Windows NT, 2000, or XP, stop the WinFax service.
- Start the WinFax PRO Message Manager.
- On the Go menu, click Cover Pages. The Cover Pages window opens.
- Select a folder that contains a different cover page.
- Right-click the cover page that you want to set as default.
- Click Set as Default.
To reimport a cover page
- Close the WinFax Message Manager and WinFax Controller.
- If you are running Windows NT, 2000, or XP, stop the WinFax service.
- Start the WinFax PRO Message Manager.
- On the Go menu, click Cover Pages. The Cover Pages window opens.
- Click the folder into which you want to add your cover page.
- Double-click New Cover Page. The New Cover Page dialog box appears.
- Select Add an existing cover page file (*.CVP) and click OK.
- Locate and select the cover page that you could not rename.
- Type the new name and description and click Open. WinFax adds the cover page to the library.
