Troubleshooting steps for WinFax PRO 10.x
Situation:
This document provides steps for several troubleshooting procedures. Use this document when you have been referred to it by a Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document.
Solution:
Perform only the procedures that were recommended to you by the Symantec Technical Support representative or by another Symantec knowledge base document. Do the procedures in the order that they were referred to you.

Rebuilding the cover page database
The following procedure uses a WinFax maintenance utility to rebuild the cover page database file, cover.db.
To rebuild the cover page library file
- Close the WinFax Message Manager and WinFax Controller.
- If you are running Windows NT, 2000, or XP, stop the WinFax service.
- Start the WinFax PRO Message Manager.
- Click Tools > Maintenance Utility.
The Message Manager and the Controller close, and the SymDiag Maintenance Utility dialog appears.
- Click Launch Application or Applet.
- Click DB File Repair and click OK.
- Select Cover Page and click OK.
- When prompted, click Yes to confirm the rebuild, and then click Finish.
- After the summary screen appears, click OK.
- On the SymDiag dialog, click Close.
- At the prompt to restart Message Manager, click Yes. The Message Manager and the Controller restart.
