WinFax support for Windows XP or Office XP

Situation:
You need to know whether WinFax PRO 10 is supported under Windows XP or supported with Office XP.

Solution:
Support for Windows XP and Office XP depends on your version of WinFax:

WinFax Basic Edition 10.02, WinFax PRO 10.02, and later versions of WinFax PRO 10 are supported under Windows XP and with Office XP.
WinFax PRO 10.00 and WinFax Basic Edition 10.00 are not supported under Windows XP.

Symantec does not recommend that you use WinFax PRO 10.00, WinFax Basic Edition 10.00, or any earlier versions of WinFax with Windows XP or Office XP. For compatibility with Windows XP and Office XP, upgrade to WinFax PRO 10.02.

To find your WinFax version from Help > About:

Open the WinFax Controller.
Click Help.
Click About Message Manager. The "About WinFax Pro" box appears.
Click the General tab. The version is at the top on that tab.

To find your WinFax version from the CD or the product box:
Look at each of the following pictures and compare them to your WinFax box or to your WinFax CD.

CAUTION: WinFax PRO 10.00 and WinFax PRO 10.02 both show WinFax PRO 10.0 on the box. The box for WinFax PRO 10.02 shows the Microsoft XP icon in the upper-right corner of the box.

Box for WinFax PRO 10.02
	If your box looks like this, you can install WinFax on Windows XP.

Box for WinFax PRO 10.0
	If your box looks like this, *do not* install WinFax on Windows XP.

CD for WinFax 10.02
	If your WinFax CD looks like this, you can use it to install WinFax on Windows XP.

CD for WinFax 10.0
	If your WinFax CD looks like this, *do not* use it to install WinFax on Windows XP.

Technical Information:
To upgrade to the current version, go to the Symantec Upgrade Center:

U.S. customers: Click here.
All others: Click here. Versions 10.02 and later might not be available in all areas outside the U.S.
