Prompt to configure Outlook 2000 during installation when Outlook 2000 is not installed

Situation:
During installation, after the modem has been configured, you are prompted to configure Outlook 2000, even though Outlook 2000 is not installed on the computer.

Solution:
To resolve this problem, complete the installation, modify the registry, and rerun the WinFax PRO Configuration Wizard to remove the Outlook integration.

CAUTION: Symantec strongly recommends that you back up the Windows registry before you make any changes to it. Incorrect changes to the registry can result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Modify only the keys that are specified. Read the document How to make a backup of the Windows registry for instructions.

Back up the registry key
  1. Exit all open programs, and stop the WinFax PRO service if you are running Windows NT.
